Hello,

Girlfriend and I are looking to travel to STJ between 30 June and 6 July. Couple of questions:

1. Is the island vegeterian friendly? Or will we have to cook a majority of my girlfriends meals "in house"?

2. Suggestions on places to stay? We want to be within walking distance of Cruz for resturants and the nightlife. We wanted Gallows Point, but they are booked up...any other suggestions?

3. Suggestion on Jeep rentals? We heard C&C was fine?

4. We are looking to rent a boat for the day to go exploring. Suggestions on where to go? What Cays are nearby that are easy to get too?

Thanks for the help!

You are at the height of Carnival so I would try to find anything asap - hotel/villa and car rental as you may not find anything at this late of a date (Carnival finishes July 4th)

Good luck

I'll try to answer a few of your questions.
Most restaurants will have a veggie dish, so your girlfriend should be able to find something she can eat when you guys eat out. Try Satyamuna at the Marketplace, they are an all veggie restaurant.
For accommodations withink walking distance of Cruz Bay, try Lavender Hill, Samuel Cottages, the Inn at Tamarind Court.
As Pia said, book something ASAP due to carnival. Good luck!

yes...def try Lavender Hill and Battery Hill in Cruz Bay. both are next to construction sites and they were half empty last week. If you don't mind some noise in the morning and during the day ( you won't be there anyway) there might be some units available for July.

As far as staying right in town, expect lots of music every night late into the night...not such a bad idea to get out of town if you plan on sleeping...

Piece of advice if you are planning to shop for veggies @ either market. They both (& most restaurants) receive "fresh" veggies via barge on Tuesday's. Sunday & Monday kind of suffer in the produce dept...
