This is truly amazing! My wife and I have been combing the internet, reading reviews, delving into comments, and I have only come across one negative experience from anyone who has visited STJ, and that one seemed suspect.
We're planning a Sept. vacation (it was going to be November, but we decided we couldn't wait that long), and are anxiously counting down the number of days until we can add our own positive stories. This board (and a few others) have made us more excited about this upcoming vacation than we were about our wedding day or the day we bought our house!
Thank you all, and if there is a VINOW message board users watering hole in STJ, I'd love to meet some of you there one night for a few libations!
Nothing negative about STJ except high prices for groceries. Have a good time.
Well, to be perfectly honest, STJ does have the 'dirtiest National Park" in the entire National park system....due to Sahara dust...and Montserrat....so that's a negative...but you probably won't notice it!!!

Eat a little less... Drink a little more... It all works out 😎
Life is good!
We are also in the Atlanta area and are going to be in St. John from Sept 10th -17th, what are the dates you will be there? We have been ther 5 times before and would be more than happy to meet up with you for a cocktail or 2 or 3. Let us know your dates and maybe we can get together. You will absolutely Love St. John!! We live in Lawrenceville Ga.

Well, if I must, I must - twist my arm a bit harder - please don't throw me in the brier patch - a man's gotta do what man's gotta do - take one for the team 😎
You're going to see St. John during the, very much, low season. The only negative is going to be some seasonal restaurant closings. Ruth at St. John Spice maintains a list: http://stjohnspice.com/stjohnrestaurants.htm

Ok, how about this: Food is expensive, rum is cheap, we drive on the left and most medical services are a boat ride away? LOL.
Eat a little less... Drink a little more... It all works (out)
OK...put that to the KC & the Sunshine Band tune and you have a STJ anthem (Albeit disco) 😎
Thanks for the link to the web site. WOW it looks like coral bay rolls up it's "sidewalks" in September. We are coming down for the first time September 25-Oct 4. Will anything be open over Coral bay way? that is where we are staying. We were really looking forward to the Donkey Dinner and Skinny Legs. Can anyone recommend any alternatives? Thanks, Mel

I have been following your posts on another forum, and the one thing that I would leave at home , is impatience. That, to me, is one thing to avoid. It's also something that I wish more people would take home with them, after visiting St.John...
I'm guessing ,like myself and so many others, that you'll pick up "island time" relatively quickly! You won't need anyone to remind you to relax, and enjoy everything.
In short, I don't don't mind waiting for a drink, as everything around me is usually spectacular. Everything.

Sorry. I meant another thread.
