Well here we are, less than a week away and "Captain Chuck" has suddenly decided that we should look at catamaran sails out of STJ. We are sailors anyway, have done catamaran trips before, but we would appreciate your last minute opinions on trips leaving from STJ (not STT) for half day or all day sails. We already have a power boat charter planned to the Baths but now all of a sudden, maybe this too??? Opinions please!!! Thanks a bunch- only FIVE more working days then off we go for a Saturday arrival-yeehaa!!!
Come sail on Soma! I own a 40' catamaran named Soma. Check out our website, somasailing.com.
thanks, we'll check it out tonight
I just checked out your website- no prices listed and I assume this is for men only as you had a fairly offensive line in there about "wives and children" looking for creature comforts. Ya' might wanna rephrase that buddyboy.

"Ya' might wanna rephrase that buddyboy."
Classic. I hope I get to meet you once in my life...what a hoot!
🙂
Enjoy your trip.
Racing sailors have never been known to be politically correct!
Cruz Bay watersports runs a daytrip on a catamaran "Island Spirit" in the 50' range a snorkeling stop in the am and then over to Jost for lunch at Foxys and then to White Bay for the beaches and bars. Returns to St John at about 5pm, sails out of the Westin around 8 am I think it runs about 100 p/p plus customs, took it last year it was a nice trip.

Thanks Kevin, we did find that one and are looking at it now. We're already booked for a Limnos Charter which will go to the same areas so we'll see. We did a catamaran out of St Martin a couple of years ago and it was awesome, low key winds, but a real blast
Well thanks Chris, I was having a dull day till this message came up! If you go to our get togehter (wait, aren't you the guy who just went back to Minnesota?) on the 7th at the Beach Bar, there the Hootin' me will be- the petite 53 year old blonde with the Bawston accent, looking for the wine list but settling for a Blue Moon or a Red Stripe. Hope to see you there!
I am afraid I will not be able to make it this time but I am sure that will not stop you from having a great time.
PS
Chris Cody went back to MN
We've got creature comforts and are "wife and children" friendly.

Yes, we're looking at all our options now including yours, alot depends on time as we have several days "full-up" already, while attempting to just chill. Hope you're rugged, experienced sailor wife friendly- not all of us need creature comforts beyond a toilet maybe??
Thanks for the suggestions, we're still playing with what we want to do. My husband would just plain live on a boat if he had his way but I have tons of exploration and hiking I want to do right on STJ that we haven't done in previous trips so I've encouraged him to hook up with Nils and just go play with the big boys.
I'm sure Nils is cool, I, like many other women, are pretty sensitive to advertising that puts us "wives" in a separate class like we can't enjoy an adrenaline rush. If they said no toilet, just an old bucket-well that would be another story for anatomical reasons but it sounded like an "only men need apply" type of thing. Either way, we'll be happy cause we'll be on STJ!!!
karrieb - I can vouch for Maddie's suggestion of Captain Phil and the Wayward Sailor - I have raved about him several times on this board and others have been very happy with him as well. Check out his website and other previous posts on this board. You won't be disappointed. We are going out with him again in December and can't wait - he makes it a very personal adventure!! Have fun on your upcoming trip...
