Getting technical here but is the northside of ST John (Trunk, Cinnamon etc...) actually in the Atlantic ocean?
The North coast of STJ is considered Atlantic, while the South is Caribbean....check out this map:

Thanks Marty. I've been calling Lonvango 'Lovango' for the past several months and never knew I was wrong.
🙂
I believe that's a typo...Lovango is the correct name. You can Google it and find lots about it. the story I heard is that back in the pirate days, the pirates would stop there (there was a brothel there)before coming into St. Thomas, get their "loving", then go...hence the name, "Love and Go", or "Lovango".
I thought that was the story behind it. Had it right all along.
🙂
Gerald Singer doesn't give credence to that popular story. He thinks that "Lovango" ( along with "Mingo") is the name of an area in Africa that some slaves were originally from. It's a less cheery story.
Much less cheery and fun! I'll stick with the other one...even if it's not true, it should be! Haha!
