Hi All,

We are 2 couples traveling to St. John in July for 7 days. I am ovewhelmed with all the choices of villas. They all look beautiful by the photos, but we have narrowed down the choice to two villas: Still Waters or Treasure Ridge. I have read a nice review of Treasure Ridge, but I was also wondering if anyone else is familar with either of these properties.

Thanks,

Jon

My husand and I stayed at Treasure Ridge in August of 2004 for a week (our honeymoon). I would go back in a heartbeat. Treasure Ridge MORE than exceeded our expectations in regard to beauty, views, and accomodations. We literally walked in with the person/woman that met us at the ferry from the rental agency and couldn't believe that we had rented THIS home. It had excellent views of the surrounding island as well as a clear view across to St. Thomas. We really enjoyed being able to see St. Thomas at night...all the twinkling lights in the distance, and you could watch the cruise ships come and go (very early in the morning and at night)....a neat sight at night when you see them in the distance. Treasure Ridge is very private as well. It has two bedrooms upstairs, and one that is more secluded and private off the pool deck. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and air conditioning. We could not see any neighbors from the villa, and neighbors could not see us. The pool was great as well. It was just the thing for cooling off in the middle of a hot afternoon. We loved the deck views. I was in awe of the view that we had. The villa has a great, new kitchen and has a gas grill outside. We loved being able to cook out while basking in the island breezes/views. There is also laundry (washer/dryer) at the villa in the downstairs laundry room. I can't WAIT to be able to go back. Has anyone else stayed at my favorite place in the world??
🙂

Hi Melissa,

Thanks so much for the detailed and enthusiastic reply. It sounds wonderful. My only question is whether the villa is roomy enough for two couples. It sounds like you were there alone with your husband, since it was a Honeymoon afterall :-).

Do you think that the size of the living space, the deck, and the pool are big enough for 4 adults to share happily and comfortably?

Thanks!

Jon

Yes I do think it's big enough for two couples. If you had other detailed questions...destination st. john who handles the renting would definitely be able to answer questions for you. I found them very helpful. In terms of deck space, there is an expansive upper deck with different seating areas (table for eating outside, and comfy chairs to watch the view), and a lower deck by the pool with chairs for lounging and another table for sitting/eating. The living space in the home of course includes the kitchen with a nice dining table and a living room area (couches/chairs). One neat thing we found to do is rent a dvd one night from the video rental place next to the Starfish Market. They let us open a temporary account. All in all, I would go back with another couple, but of course I cannot compare it to the other place you're looking at in terms of space, etc. Sorry I can't help you with that.
