I read a couple reviews of star villas, but I can't find any website or info about it's location and rates. Anyone know anything about this place? I'd like to know the weekly rate and more specific location(is it in a noisy area?) Thanks! Donna D

Star Villas is a group of villas located in Cruz Bay. They are all separately owned and ran by the same person. They are on the road around the corner from Gallows Point, they face southeast. I don't think there is a noise issue there.

We just got back from St. John, and noticed that there is mad construction going on near Gallow's Point. They are building another resort there? Someone else can confirm, since when we walked by, it was at night. But it looked like it was the early stages of construction, digging through rock, etc. and very likely noisy.

We met a few people staying at Gallow's for a wedding, and when we saw the construction next door, we felt bad for them.

I don't know how close Star Villas is to Gallow's Point, so it might not be an issue as Ronnie says.

Star Villas is on the southern side of the hill, the project on the north. It's a condo project. People from Gallows don't seem to hear it, maybe only the close units, but then again, they only work in the daytime, and that's when you are at the beach!!

Good point Ronnie, you are never really home during construction hours. Our villa had construction going on on both sides, one right next door, and the other a little ways down, and we hardly noticed it. The hammering in the early morning was annoying, but it was also an effective alarm clock to get us out to the beaches!

The other interesting thing about Gallow's Point that we noticed, is that there is a cemetary there? Was that real? It seemed like some of the units would be directly above the cemetary!

Hello Tom,

Yes it is a cemetary you saw, a real one.
