Seems like there are no events scheduled between Sept 16- Sept 21, is this a vacation for St. Thomas/St. John that week. Just curious as it is our first time visiting. We are okay with relaxing, but not sure if restaurants or bars will be closed then?

Some are closed so best to call for reservations if you have your heart set on a particular place.

September very slow tourist month and generally the height of hurricane season so some restaurants close for vacation and/or repairs, cleaning, etc.

You won't have a problem finding restaurants that are open, however
You might consider travelers insurance, just in case a storm disrupts your visit.

Have fun.

What type of events are you looking for? Many events aren't easy to find online unless you've liked Facebook pages, etc.

Where will you be staying?

Upon arrival pick up a copy of "St Thomas This Week" at the airport and then pick up a copy of the "Island Trader" which you'll find at just about every supermarket and convenience store (it's published every Thursday). Between the two you'll be able to find out what's going on where during your visit.

For St John restaurant closings you can go to the St John Spice website where Ruth maintains and updates the closings there. Very few St Thomas restaurants close in comparison to those on STJ so you'll have plenty of options. Enjoy your visit!

Thank you to all, looks like no storms are on their way. And with the word that is low tourist season and still restaurants do not close, I think we are good.
