Good Afternoon,
Will be in St. Thomas/St. John during Christmas and the following week and just checked the 15 day forecast. It shows alot of rain/clouds and wind. I know that it is not unusual for it to rain for an hour in the caribbean and then the sun comes out. I am hoping that this will be the case(?) I am hoping that these weathermen are wrong as usual!!!

Here's the normal truth about a 7 or more day stay in USVI. You'll get rain (or heavy mist), but you'll get A LOT MORE sunshine! We come for 8-9 days each year, and yup you can count on some times with heavy clouds and some rain. But - getting just a few hours rained out is okay - helps keep the cisterns filled and the plants looking great - because the sunshine is just a few minutes away.

Have a great time!

Spoken like a true visitor. I am assuming that you have booked and all is paid for. RIGHT? So you are coming, RIGHT?. Forget the weather. Enjoy the life that the islands has to give. Just deal with the weather as it comes, day by day. Adjust to it, don't worry about it in advance. That is the fist thing you need to learn as an islander. The second is throw away the watch. Or least put in in your luggage until you need to go back. That is the second thing to learn.

enjoy your vacation!!!

The weather is perfect. The usual brief showers (mostly at night/very early in the morning) keep everything fresh, the Trade winds are rustling through the palms, the sun is shining brightly and there are just a few light cloud patches up there. No weather pattern of any interest on the horizon other than the beautiful norm and I'm really looking forward to taking a few days off and getting to the beaches! Enjoy your vacation - the weathermen aren't wrong, they ALWAYS predict 20-40% chance of rain! Cheers and seasons greetings!

life is full of compromises. I think whatever the weather is in Chi town it is always better in the islands.

Enjoy, then go back and then come again.

The only time you need to worry about weather is if they give it a name. Otherwise, leave your cares at home, bring your sun tan lotion and use it.

Have a very Merry Christmas

Sharkgirl,

The weather reports ALWAYS show rain and clouds in the VI. I have been going down for many years and don't bother checking weather unless the visit is during hurricane season and I want to make sure I am not flying into a hurricane. Otherwise, every visit should simply ignore the weather because the reports are never accurate - including weather channel, weather.com, etc. I think they might pick up the nightly rainshowers and the occasional mid-day sunshower - and they call for a rainy day. The sun will shine - no doubt!
