I am traveling with another couple we are trying to decide between the following condo's/villa's are price range was about $270 per night(9 nights in Feb). We are looking for feedback on the following:
1) Has anyone stayed at these places? How would you rate them
2) What do you think about the location? Both couples are in are young 30's. We probably would want to go out 3 nights of the nine for nightlife.
3) How is the Beach in these areas?
4)If you have a different condo/villa you would recommend we are open to suggestions.
Below are the units that we are thinking about

$270 a night (magen's bay area

$170 a night (caret's bay northside)

$270 a night (bolongo bay southside)

$280 a night (cowpet Bay next to Elysian Resort)
Thanks in advance for the help. I am a new at the chat board and first time to USVI.
The first two are pretty far from restaurants, night spots. Okay, the northside places will be fairly close (13 and whatever Bryan's is called now.) Caret Bay is really quiet and isolated. The last two are in condominium complexes with beaches, restaurants near by. The one at Cowpet is also close to Red Hook entertainment.
I'd say the Caret Bay villa should be out, very remote, not a great road, and 71 steps! That is unless you want a workout!!!!! lol!
Paradise Cottage is cute, I have not stayed there, but have seen it a few times. (I live here).

The condos? I like villas better as you have your own space to yourselves, but you are right on the beach at most condos.
Thanks for the advice.
I ended up finding exactly what we were looking for on the northside. We really wanted pool and hottub and we now found it. I included the link. I am really glad I posted here because we would not have really thought about the northside. I have included the link. it looks awesome and has great reviews. Thanks again. Now on to a car. We also have to book a hotel room for one night because the villa was already booked. It looked worth it though. I like the villa idea too. Sheri and East ender thanks for the great advice
We have stayed at the Windward Passage-Holiday Inn downtown before. Not since they added gambling next door but it was reasonable and adequate and made it easy to do the downtown area or catch the ferry over to St. Johns. The seaplanes do start flying out pretty early in the morning. Can't help with the car as have only rented daily on St. John. Have stuck with taxis otherwise since have to drive on the left and wanted to relax and not bother with parking, etc. Favorite downtown jeweler is Imperial Jewelers - say hi to Joe and Karen. Then go up the alley to Coconuts.
Thanks for the info sunseaker. We will look into Holiday inn for our 1 night place to crash in.
Emerald Beach Hotel is a good place to check for a 1 night stay - on the beach and convenient.
