I'm planning a trip for late August to Point Pleasant Resort in St. Thomas. Is this in a good location? What's there to do for a young couple? Is it laid back like Jamaica? (wink, wink) Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm deciding on a destination by tomorrow so any help with making the decision is appreciated

The Point Pleasant Resort (PPR) is a nice place. It is not extravagant, but comfortable. It consists of about 125 condo units in several buildings. It has studios, 1 bed room and 2 bed room units. I'd recommend you get a "Superior Suite" (1 bed room unit) on the top of the hill. This gives you the best view. And the view is nothing less than spectacular! I know, I own a unit there. There are two restaurants, the Agave (seafood, expensive but good) and Fungi's (casual, inexpensive and also good). Each unit has a full kitchen (best for breakfasts and lunches). PPR has two beaches (Pineapple Beach & Sugar Beach). There are three pools and an exercise room (basic equipment). The East End location is a great stepping off point to St. John and the BVIs. Also, Red Hook is close by with other restaurants & night life. If you're spending more than a few days I highly suggest that you rent a car.
Hope this helps.

Regards,

F.I.

And it is not quite as laid back as Jamaica, but you can still find what you seek.
