my husband and i will be celebrating our 10 yr. anniversary in march & we have never been to the v.i. before. we are also bringing our 6 yr. old and our babysitter, so we need either 2 rooms or a 2 bdrm villa. the island beachcomber in st. thomas is available and the tamarind reef hotel is also. has anyone stayed at either of these places? thanks ahead of time for your response!

We have stayed in St John (Thanksgiving 2002) and St Croix (2001). Of course, to get to St John we flew into St Thomas (then ferry to St John), so we spent some time in St Thomas as well. (We have been to St Thomas on a cruise stop previously). I know you did not mention St John, but that was our favorite. I can't share much on 2-BR accomodations, as we stayed at Concordia EcoTents (www.maho.org) while on St John. However, we did visit the Westin Resort on St John to have our engagement photos taken, and the grounds/pool/beach were highly impressive. There were also many activities throughout the day, and a nice restaurant was on the premesis. (We also took a day sail on the Adventurer to the British Virgin Islands - which left out of the Westin dock).
If you have not checked into St John yet, I would suggest looking into it. It was less crowded, very green, lots of beaches, and some beaches with reefs that came up to the beach.
Congratulations on your 10-year anniversary! Having seen/visited all three US Virgin Islands, we are returning to St John in March to get married on the beach...
