We are coming to st. thomas the first weekend in October have never been before we love Aruba so thought we would try a new place any info or suggestions and any comparrison. We are staying at the Marriott
Hmmmmm. I haven't been to Aruba in over 25 years, but I recall that it was a desert, and very slightly hilly. St Thomas is quite steep, and green. Aruba has casinos, St. Thomas does not. Aruba has an oil refinery. St Thomas sister, St. Croix, has an oil refinery. Aruba is much closer to the equator, and hot, hot, hot.
I thought Aruba was wonderful. I went there as a tourist. I've lived on St Thomas over 20 years, so it's harder to see STT through a visitors eyes. I find the natural beauty of St Thomas beyond compare, really. But maybe I'm biased?
I sugest you get out there. Rent a jeep. Go to St John for the day by barge (that's like another vacation in itself!) Hit some of the amazing beaches St. Thomas has to offer. No reason to spend all your time at the Marriott.
Have a wonderful visit!
