Anyone have any suggestions on a good place to have lunch in St. Thomas, after we get off the plane and rent a car, but before we get on the car ferry at Red Hook? We will have a three-year-old with us. Any place in Red Hook? Is it safe to leave the rental car with all the luggage in it while having lunch? We're getting a "Jeep Liberty or comparable" so I imagine it will have a decent trunk ... Thanks!

Molly Malone's is a good spot and is kid friendly. It is in American Yacht Harbor adjacent to the ferry. They have very good sandwiches.
I think you will be fine with your luggage locked in the car in red Hook during the middle of the day.

There is underground parking in Red Hook on same side of road where ferry is located, next to marina. It does fill up quick. Across street where pharmacy is located, there are a couple of 3 hour parking spots. If you go up the street where Marina Market is located, at the top of the hill is $10/day parking, for ferry. Your stuff should be safe for lunch, don't know if I'd leave a packed car all day. If you like Sushi, some of the best in the WORLD is in Red Hook at Lotus. There is a restaurant in parking lot where pharmacy is located, (name starts with a "D"), and believe it or not the food is quite good. The Deli right in Red Hook is good also. Remember, Red Hook is about as big as my fist!

There are a ton of places along the strip there.. Molly Malones was great. There is also a decent little taco place over there (really can't miss it). Food was pretty good... expensive though.

Donntamatrix....that was Duffy's and one of my favorite places.

With a child i'd go Molly's....i had the best quesadillas there. Good service, you can't go wrong.

Duffy's is a great place, with great food. Something to know before you go, however-they don't take credit cards.
Molly Malone's is awesome. Can get pretty busy though.
