My husband, 10 month old daughter, and I are coming to St. Thomas. We'd like our picture professionally taken, but I'm having a hard time finding a reasonably affordable photographer. Any suggestions???

Eric Johnson & Ashley Armitage are two I've contacted that do GREAT work but I can't afford it.
Gary Felton recommended me to Eric Johnson so I guess this isn't his type of work.

Three strikes so far... please help!

What's your budget? Do you want it taken in their studio or somewhere on the island?

I saw your other post regarding Day Trip and asking about Water Island. Water Island/Honeymoon Beach would be lovely for a day trip for you and your family. The beach is white, sugar sand, very calm water and a slight/gradual slope into the water. Adults will find snorkeling around the rocky "edges" and out to the points to be easy and interesting. There's a swim platform anchored in the middle of the marked swim area - a very nice "destination" swim or float. There's plenty of shade from the cocount trees and the palapa. There's picnic tables and pavillion also on the beach along with bathroom facilities. Heidi's Honeymoon Grill serves lunch from 11 to 3 each day and Joe's Beach Bar serves frosty blender drinks also. During the week you may find you are the only ones on the beach until around noon when folks come for lunch and then around 3:00 when Bones brings 20-30 cruise ship passengers to Honeymoon Beach for about an hour to swim and to sample chicken & ribs and cesar salad from Heidi's. On the weekend, there's mostly Water Island residents and guests or St. Thomas or Hassel Island residents on the beach. From St. Thomas, you would need to get to Crown Bay Marina (by taxi or the dollar taxi), take the Water Island ferry (ferry schedule is posted on VINOW.com) and a short walk to Honeymoon Beach from the Water Island ferry landing.

I've hired a photographer to take pictures of our vacation home on Water Island for our web site. Her name is Jamie and she lives aboard a boat moored in Honeymoon Bay right off Water Island. She charges $35/hour and $20 per image. If you're interested, send a Private Message (PM) to me and I'll provide you with contact information.

I'd like to spend $100-$200 total ~ family pictures taken on the beach and then a few pictures (5x7, 8x10, and an 11x14). Most photographers are wanting that much JUST to take the pictures!

If you'll be there the week of Sept. 21-26, I'll be happy to take your family's portrait.

I do a few portraits a year here at home, and would love to write-off my vacation as a "work trip" 🙂

I just emailed Don Herbert to check his pricing!

Sorry Ed ~ we are heading down there on Sunday! Thanks for the offer though!
