Hello all,
I will be traveling to St Thomas in early December. I've noticed many locals post on this board and I was wondering if you could give us some insight into the local activities during the first week of December (any local festivals, etc). Also are certains days of the week better than others for certain activites? I noticed in one post someone mentioned that Wednesday was happy hour for Paradise point and a free tram ride up. Is this every Wednesday - what time is Happy hour? Any other local tips like this one?
Also can you tell me the general hours that shops and attractions are open? Are shops along the waterfront open late on certain nights of the week? What about Sundays - are shops and attractions open or should we reserve Sunday for relaxing on the beach?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Hello,
You might visit our events calendar for info.

The Happy Hour at Paradise Point on Wednesday evenings is every week. Greenhouse has a happy hour on Tuesday nights and other bars have them also. Bolongo Bay has a neat Caribbean show on Wednesdays.
Typically stores and attractions are open Mon-Sat 9-5. Sundays; if there are ships in port Havensight shops will open regular hours, town stores will open half day, usually till 1pm, some attractions open, others do not.
There is a live band at Sapphire Beach on Sunday afternoons.

Planning ahead is not a forte around here! 😉 When you get here, check the most recent Island Trader (comes out on Thursday) for special events, bands, etc. that may just pop up. Also, just ask at your hotel or favorite watering hole. The Coconut Telegraph is an important communication device!
Great event on 12/4 is Las Vegas Night which will be at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef. Play Blackjack, craps, roulette, texas hold'em poker. There will be a live auction and a raffle with a $10,000 grand prize. This is a fund raiser and a lot of fun. Attended by about 1200 people.
