We are staying at the Elysian Beach Resort at the end of July for our honeymoon. My parents have a timeshare there and love it. I have heard/seen some bad reviews of the resort and would appreciate any feedback from recent visitors. I've read reviews stating extremely poor front desk service, flea bites in the rooms/beach, etc.

Any information would be very helpful.

Any info on restaurants, beeches, day-sails would also be helpful. We have the New Horizons day sail booked but are looking for other great recommendations.

Thanks

Andy

It has been two year since we were guest. We found the resort very nice.
Cowpet is a quiet beach
Snorkeling mediocre, but nice beach to chill after a day of fun
There are two restaurants on site - Roberts is one my favorite places to eat on the island
Very close to Red Hook with Nightlife and more restaurants

We never had a problem with fleas - but my guess they are really talking about noseeums, which can be a pain in the butt
There is a post if you do a search on this page that has 900 inputs on that topic and how to avoid them.

All in all the Elysian Resort is a great home base for STT
Hope you get a car so you can explore all of STT

Highly recommend Latitude 18 (very close to Elysian) on open mic night – Tuesday

New Horizons is fun day, but if you are looking for something a little more private I would recommend Nauti Nymphs and ask for Calvin. They are private speed boats with a Captain. Get a early start, Head over to Waterlemon to snorkel in STJ, the caves at Norman, head to the Willy T to take a celebration jump and you have a good day.

I really do not think you will be disappointed

BTW Congrats

Re: restaurants- Robert's and Ainsley's, both on the property, are two of my favorite places. They are run by the same family 😉
Robert's for cheese grits, biscuits and gravy at breakfast, fish specials at dinner (and cheese grits!!) Also a terrific piano bar.
Ainsley's for imaginative pizza choices while sitting on the beach.

you are in luck! We just returned from renting a condo at cowpet bay (east) slash Elysian,,,,,,,,,we were there from 6/24 to 7/2 and had a blast!!!!! The pool is nice with a nice pool bar with a 2 for 1 happy hour from 4 to 6....the beach was quiet.....2 nice restuarants too. Red Hook is very close....Make sure you go to st. john for a trip or 2 to see the beaches there. I was VERy impressed with the Elysian....very clean....well kept...good food......my family had a great time

I have a time share week there and have all ways had a good time at the resort. If you want good reception with the front desk make sure you greet them properly with a good morning ( afternoon, whatever) and a smile, you will be amazed how far this will get you as most tourists bring an attitude that the help is there to kiss their ass. Use gin to rub on your skin and it will keep the no-seeums from eating you, yes this sounds odd but a local bartender gave turned us onto this and it worked. Enjoy.
