Hey all,
First time posting. I was hoping to find out some suggestions on various day excursions to The Baths and The Soggy Dollar Bar. I will be in STT in June at Sapphire Beach. Thanks

At Sapphire, you are next to both powerboats (from Pocket Yachts, I believe is the name of the company) in which you can rent with or without a captain for the day. I would highly recommend StuScott on this board for a captain for the day. From our conversations, the haul to the Baths with the smaller pocket yacht may be quite a haul (and $ on gas) in addition to the Soggy Dollar. But do-able if you have all day. If you want to go along with a group, the New Horizons Breakaway II also leaves out of Sapphire marina at around $120/pp including lunch. I think it goes to both the Baths as well as Jost (not sure whether it stops at Foxy's or Soggy Dollar or both).

You can search the message board for links to New Horizons -- it's very popular.

And I'm sure Stuart will chime in here, too 🙂

We were on the New Horizons Breakaways trip in January & had alot of fun. Since its a power boat you can get to the BVI's faster & are able to do a little more than sailboats from what I've been told. They took their time to explain the different islands along the way, we stopped & got off for customs where there were a couple of shops, got back on & went to the Baths & took the tour. Got back on the boat (via swimming) and took off for a really great place for snorkeling just off Marina Cay (I guess it depends on how the weather is that day that depends on which area they'll take you to snorkel) but..where we were it was truly beautiful water. Afterwards, they took us over to Marina Cay for lunch (we ordered our lunches via a menu on the way over & they had it ready for us). We then headed for Jost Van Dyke & The Soggy Dollar Bar & then on back. It made for a fun day & really gave you a taste of the BVIs.

Thanks Landlockedbeachlover I appreciate the nice review. To go to the Baths I would recommend New Horizons II or Limnos Charters. The cost ends up being cheaper with a bigger boat like them and much much more comfortable. In a Pcoekt Yacht or any kinds of rental boat you are heading into the chop the whole way there for the same money you can get open bar, a better ride, and some include lunch.

I'd love to take you out there but you'd hate it with a Pocket Yacht. If you want to do both I'd take New Horizons II because its a speed boat and they get you out there faster and they stop and JVD on the way back so you have more time at each spot and you get to the baths before all the tour boats.

I hope this helps.
