What is everyone's favorite beach in St.Thomas and why? I will be there in January and just trying to decide which beach to spend a couple hours on. I have heard about the beaches in St.John but we don't have the time to go there this time around. All your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Michelle,

Since I had to narrow it down to one...

Magens Bay - I like it because its almost always calm, the water deepens gradually and the water is crystal clear. I like thats its large and I can walk or jog up and down the shoreline. Great for swimming for pleasure or excercise because its calm and a long beach. Its also a beautiful beach. Great for afternoon swims at sunset! Great for swimming on full moon. I enjoy walking along the rocky coast line on the right and taking in the beach. Tips based on my cons about Magens Bay: Watch out for large groups on big cruise ship days and on Sundays when locals frequent Magens and have beach bbqs and parties and get noisey.

Islander, we were at Magen's this past Sunday. It wasn't too crowded...2 smaller ships in port. Lots of locals, but coming from the Northeast, we found the locals both charning and interesting.

BONUS - they had a band there...Hubby loves live music...and they played a great selection from contemporary christian praise to rock to pop to blues and lots of local music. It was perfect!

Thanks for all your time and effort on this site!
