I'll be in St. Thomas on a cruise in a few weeks & can't decide which beach to go to.
A couple of years ago, we went to Magen's Bay & loved it--it was beautiful & clean. I've read some things about Coki Beach & was considering it. Do you think we would be disappointed?? I saw a picture on the internet & it looks beautiful too!! We like calmer waters--is Coki beach rough???

Theres,

I love Coki Beach. It's my second favorite. (No, Magen's Bay is not my first favorite). It's a much smaller beach, but the water is crystal clear. Clearer than many swimming pools. I find it the most fun of all the beaches on St. Thomas. If you are snorkelers there is a wonderful variety of sea critters to see. Even the most timid snorkeler will be able to see a lot of fish in shallower water. This is the beach at which I first snorkeled. I came out of the water that first time and declared, "I was born to snorkel!" The water is calm. The beach is much shorter than Magen's Bay. It has an entirely different look and feel to it. You can sit on the beach at Magen's and feel as if you are in a Corona commercial. I don't get that feel at Coki, where there's much more activity or perhaps the same amount of activity concentrated in a shorter stretch of beach. You can rent lounge chairs at either beach. Both beaches have people walking along to take orders for drinks or food, Both beaches are favorites of locals and cruise ship passengers and can be more crowded on days with heavy cruise ship visitation. I do know people (tourists) who do not enjoy Coki, but for me it's a must-do on any St. Thomas vacation.

I hope this helps.

Gerie
