My wife and I will be returning to St Thomas for our five year anniversary this winter. The dates of our travel will be from 12/02-12/10. We are flying into St Thomas and had discussed staying there for a few days then moving to St X. Problem is some of our freinds who recently had been to the USVI told us to make the majority of our stay in St. Thomas because St X was "not that nice". We had not checked out places to stay on St Thomas that well because we were not planning on staying there for very long. We plan on renting a car so we can get around. I would not call us beach people because after a few hours of sitting around we both get bored (ADHD?). Any suggestions on nice and reasonable accomadations on St. Thomas? A view is always nice. Thanks for any help,
Chris

What is your price range? We've got B&B's for as low as $74/night...up to the Ritz Carlton for about...well, it's a Ritz! A BUNCH per night! Haha!

Sorry a price range would be between 100-200 a night depending on what type of property it is. We would be interested in B&B's also.
Thanks
Chris

I don't think your friends' comment on STX being "not that nice" should be taken seriously. Many people who prefer STX say the same thing about STT.

Okay, I really dont want to start a discussion on whether St Thomas or St X is nicer because in reality we will be spending time on both, but I would really appreciate some help on some lodging on St Thomas as that is where we will be staying. I have read through literaly hundreds of threads on this board and there seem to be many informed individuals and I would greatly value their opinions.
Thanks
Chris

Christopher: Were you thinking along the lines of a full service hotel (room service, spa, etc) or a self-catering unit with a kitchen, etc.? I would look at Marriott Frenchman's Reef for the former and perhaps Secret Harbour for the latter.

BTW, I have never been to St Croix, but my understanding is that it is like the Caribbean was before the cruise ships and the high rises and the "entertain me" mentality that seems to abound these days. I would like to visit before they get mega yachts in Gallows Bay!!

Look into Bluebeard's Beach Club. It is a timeshare property, but nice and right on the beach.

Hello Chris,

For B&B choices on St. Thomas you could try http://www.bellavista-bnb.com/ and http://www.crystalpalaceusvi.com or http://www.islandviewstthomas.com. They are all downtown or close to downtown.
