Good Morning,

I am in the process of planning our second anniversary vacation for Oct 29 - Nov 2, 2005.

I was thinking of spending 4 nights in Tortola (Long Bay Resort) and 3 Nights in St. Thomas (Secret Harbor). Is this a good time to go as far as the weather still being warm as we love to enjoy the beach.

I understand there is a ferry that can get us from Tortola to St. Thomas in an hrs time. Has anyone taken this ferry?

Also, we thought we would do a day trip to St. Johns and Virgin Gorda. Worth it or should we take a pass?

Should we rent a car in both places?

We also love to dance, is there a "club" in St. Thomas where we can enjoy latin or raggae music?

Any suggestions are appreciated as I am just beginning my research.

Thanks in advance.

Cass

Cass,
You are still in "hurricane season" but that shouldn't bother you. Buy trip cancellation insurance and you will be fine. The weather is normally nice that time of year with a bit more rain that other times.

The ferry takes about an hour and is comfortable. No worries there.

A day trip to St. John is easy from Secret Harbor. Just take the ferry from Red Hook.

Rent a car. You'll be glad you have the mobility.

Don't have any idea about the clubs.

Enjoy the planning process. Don't plan every moment. Wonderful things will just happen when you get here!

Pamela.

We took the ferry from Charlotte Amalie to tortola and exited at WE. It was easy! WE stayed at the Jolly Roger. Great place. On our return trip we left from Road Town and it went straight to CA without the stop in St.John for customs. Very easy.
