A last minute trip for us as friends invite us to join them staying in their timeshare units at the Elysian Resort. Dave and Al were roommates in college and were in each other's weddings - Kathy and I were the girlfriends then wives 20 years ago!! Our phrase for the week "20 Years to Life!" Dave and Kathy purchased these timeshare units days before surviving Hurricane Marilyn 10 years ago. They had been staying at the Sugar Bay Resort which was badly damaged during the hurricane. We arrive at the airport and Dave gets our rental car.

Dave is our chauffeur for the week. Driving is very stressful if you ask me with staying on the left side of the road and very curvy, hilly and narrow roads throughout. Here we pass through Charlotte Amalie.

Making our way through the hilly island, we find our resort the Elysian owned by Fairfield Resorts now.

Beach right there is nice but small. Unlike our trips to Mexico we never spent our days at the resort because we were too busy venturing outside of the resort to see all the area had to offer. Here's the beach at the resort.

We had 2 rooms - Dave and Kathy stayed in the larger room with a kitchen, eating area, and couch with a murphy bed for sleeping. Al and I had an attached room with a king bed!

We had stopped at KMart on our way to the resort and purchased drinking and snacking supplies. Dave's favorite purchase was a great blender that we used all week. Well worth the 30 bucks!!!!!

Lots more to come. Stay tuned!!!
