Wondering what beach is good for families with small children? We have been to megans bay several times and we thought that wed try some other beach this time, however we dont want a beach that is rough for swimming. We have also been to coki and didnt care for it as well as megans. Please give us any imput that you can.

Hi Louie,

Loads of beaches with calm water, nice sandy entrance. Some even have children's playground equipment. Sorry you didn't like Coki. It's one of my favorites.

Go to Sapphire Beach, Secret Harbour, both at resorts. Also try Lindbergh Bay (Emerald Beach Resort) and Brewers Bay both by the airport.

You might also consider the short, inexpensive ferry ride to St. John for a day and go to Trunk, Hawksnest and Cinnamon Bays.

I really think any of the beaches on the islands is wonderful, each in its own way.

Have fun exploring them all.

Gerie

You've gotta go to Coki Beach. Buy dog biscuits from a vendor on the beach, and get in the water at the end of the beach near the aquarium. Then just wade into about 3 feet of water, put your snorkle mask on, and your kids can feed the fish from their hand.

The fish are tame and used to expecting hand outs from the tourists - it's a lot of fun. Just be careful, because the fish do bite, and it does hurt.

I think this is the best beach for young kids, because they're going to see something within 5 minutes of getting out of the car.
