Looking to see if the following all still would receive thumbs up for a recommendation:
Herve, Craig & Sally's, Randys Bar, Old Stone Farmhouse, Cuzzins, The Pointe

Any additions or deletions?

This is the first post I've see on the North Drop. How about a short review? When we were on STT a couple of years ago it appered to be in the process of just opening. Last Nov. we read it North Drop was open for dinner only, while we rent a vehicle I'm not a huge fan of diving at night in an area I'm not real familiar with, been past the ND during the day. Have they started opening for lunch?

Thanks

I went back and copied this from my last trip report. You can read the full trip report by searching my user name around July 2005 - It is a long 16 day report - broken into 2 or 3 sections.

Here is my North Drop portion:

"After about 1.5 hrs of Megan's bliss, we returned to the house to shower and change for dinner. I didn't feel like traveling to the East End, so we decided to head over to what used to be Bryan's New Bar to see what it had become since changing ownership. I just LOVE the view form this place, and remembered the food being especially good. It's now called "The North Drop" and the pool tables have been replaced by additional dining tables inside. We were seated out on the balcony. The tables and chairs are made form a beautiful, polished wood. They each have an umbrella and there are torches burning along the rail. The view is incredible. Our waitress was super-friendly and helpful. They have a children's menu with items in the $6 range. My D ordered chicken fingers and fries, my son ordered beef noodle soup, chicken Caesar salad a side of seasoned rice and I ordered The North Drop combo (penne pasta, spicy sausage, grilled chicken and large shrimp in a creamy vodka/tomato sauce - YUMMMM) Everything was good and my son wound up eating some of my dinner after he finished his because mine was so good. Total bill was $58 (I had two Heinekens). They had trouble getting our credit card to go through and the waitress came to ask if we were using a new card or something (HELLO - THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR ON THE FIRST NIGHT OF A LONG VACATION - MY CARD DOESN'T WORK???? She asked me if I wanted her to call the service desk and I said yes, and while she was doing that she tried the card one more time and it went through. Phew!"

What's the dress code at Indigo, and how far out(if ever) do I need to make reservations? Thanks for everyone's input.

Larry;

Indigo is verry casual. It has become very popular so it is wise to make reservations. Wed night they have a piano player. I live close by and eat there at least twice a week. Also not mentioned
here is Tavern on the Waterfront in town. It is under new management and has a Jazz night on Fridays. Also recomend resevations has become popular with locals and visitors

Hello,

On Wednesday night, is it a "sing along" type piano bar? Jim Buffet, Billy Joel for example? Not show tunes?

sadly only has bar food at the moment. The restaurant sectin closed, then re-pened as Umbrellas, and recently closed again (within the past month, actually). I am still waiting to hear what will happen with that particular part of the site....

When HBH was open, they had AWESOME food. I know the gal who cooked at Umbrellas, and she was also very good. Sadly she was distraught over unpaid catering gigs, and is now working as a vet tech.

and Dawn...not JIM Buffett 😉 = 'tis Jimmy...teehee....(from a true Parrothead, trust me ;)...)

Hello Islander - long time no see - We're headed back the first two weeks in July - hope there is another get together - it is always a good time.

We ALWAYS hit Hull Beach and grab a bite to eat while we're there. Sibs, Fungi's,The Greenhouse and Mafoli are some of our regular haunts. We always have fun finding new places to eat and enjoy. Exploring his half the fun of going to the islands.
