It's our first time to St T. We don't have a place to stay yet- arriving 6/8 for a week. Can anyone recommend a place to stay for $800 a wk, studio OK,that is nice, on the beach or with a great view, with cooking facilities and near a food store? Or is this the impossible dream? What are your thoughts on Sapphire Village? (There are just the tow of us. We have no children.)

Kitty:

Try Point Pleasant Resort they might doscount for last minute reservations - Book dorect for best rates - 340-775-7200.

Hope this helps.

btw, you will probably need a car - use Hertz or Avis, book through their web site for best rates.

Regards,

F.I.

We stayed at Sapphire Village Condos last July, rented a one bedroom unit from a private owner in Florida. Very nice, looked down on the marina and across the water to St. John, etc. I think it was about $900 a week. If you need info, I still have owner's name and number.

Highly recommend it. Great restaurant on the property.

If you have an entertainment card and book at an Antilles resort (www.antillesresorts.com) you can get 50% off your room! My husband and I will be in STT 10 nights, 6/1-6/11, and are staying at Sapphire Beach Resort for $1357!!!! If you're planning on staying 7 nights you'll pay around 950.

Last year we stayed at Point Pleasant for 7 nights for about $750! We absolutely loved Point Pleasant. The rooms were beautiful, the view was beautiful and our deck was very secluded. The only bad thing about Point Pleasant is all the walking! The are not located diretly on the beach so there is quite a walk. We had to walk up & down hill alot to get to the beach. So you really should be in decent shape if you stay there. Its also alittle hard if you've had a bit to drink and have to walk all that way back to the room. Don't let me discourage you though... we had a great time! It was a hard decision trying to figure out where I wanted to stay on this trip. We loved PP so much... it took me two weeks to finally decide and I'm still wondering if I made the right decision.

Invest $15 (they're on sale right now at www.entertainment.com) on an entertainment book and you'll save hundreds of dollars!!!

Have a great trip!

I booked a full week at Bluebeard's Castle Villas III on skyauction.com for a total of $235.00 for the entire week! A studio with kitchenette, sleeps 4. This is the second time I have bidded, the first I had Megan's Beach Resort, and got it even cheaper! You can start bidding as low as $1.00. The transfer fees are $195.00. The processing fee for using the auction site is $15.00. You get your certificate emailed to you within hours! Most of them are timeshares through RCI that they are auctioning off! Go for it! Keep your money to buy lots of goodies and rum!

Also, try Priceline.com. I am going on the 27th of this month, and actually staying until June 8. They throw out last minute deals when they do not get the rooms booked, and you can get a 3 star for $30.00 a night! Computer access is readily available all over the Island (most bars)! I'm just grateful enough to have my Islander Families that adopted me from a previous vAcation wanting to keep me at their homes for the time I am not at Bluebeard's Castle. They were even insulted that I made the reservation without telling them because they wanted me ALL OF THE TIME! The Islander's really are BEAUTIFULLY SPIRITED HUMANS! With the exception of those who "DO NOT WANT TO WORK" and take from others! I am going with there promise that they will be my bodyguards and even stay at the Castle with me!
