I'm going to be in St Thomas in less than three weeks and just learned that the St Lucia Jazz Festival is May 2nd - May 10th. I'd love to go for a few days but am unsure how to get there. I'm thinking I could catch a flight to San Juan from STT and fly to St Lucia from there. Is there any other way, boat or sea plane, to get there from STT? Has anyone ever been to the St Lucia Jazz Fest? Seems like a great way to cap off a week in the islands. Thanks

You can get to St Lucia via LIAT. It is a milk run- several stops including Antigua, the home base. I have a feeling if you don't have hotel reservations and tickets yet, you may be in trouble. It is very popular.

Thanks for the info East Ender, you're right for this year but there's always next year. I'm in STT for the week before the jazz fest every year so it's worth looking into. Since I miss the majority of the New Orleans jazz Fest (always the last week-end in April - the first week end in May) this would be a great event for me. I'll look into the transportation you mentioned.

I have been to the St Lucia festival 3 times - it is NOT like any festival you have ever been to - doesn't matter where or when , it is great though , I would not go to St Lucia for it w/o confirmed hotel reservations -- for sure!!
It is a fine vacation but w/o a room it could be a problem.
