I am planning a trip somewhere for my 25th wedding anniversary and a friend's 50th birthday over labor day weekend 2012. We are thinking about going to St. Thomas or St. Johns. Is it a good time to go to the Caribbean? Which island would you suggest for the most activity.
Thank you!
it is St. John, not JOHNS
Labor Day falls smack in the middle of hurricane season. The islands are less crowded. And the weather is generally nice, unless a storm rolls through--sometimes a short refreshing shower, sometimes devastating hurricane. I would take the risk and purchase trip insurance as a back-up.
What island? Well, depends on what you like to do and your budget. STT is cheeper , STJ has the national park beaches.
Prefer St. John for sure - Enough to keep you busy, great sites and beaches - Got Married on the Island- have been going down there for along time - hopefully will be back for our 20th this year in November. It is hurricane season so you are chancing it, but is is a great island.
