I have a few wedding questions I would love to have answered:

1. I arrive in St Thomas at 3:30 pm Monday and need to get to the courthouse by 5 to pick up my license. Will this give me plenty of time? I don't want to have to come back once I ferry over to St. John.

2. Can I take the ferry from CA at 5:30 or should I go to Red Hook?

3. Will a taxi take me from airport to court and wait for me or can I easily get another taxi after leaving the courthouse to take me to the ferry?

Thanks

Hello,

We are in St John and just got married yesterday! And we love mojitos!
1. You will be cutting it VERY close. If you HAVE to pick up the paperwork that day, then have someone get the luggage and send someone to the courthouse as soon as you land. The baggage terminal can take some time. We came back over on a seperate day, made a morning of it, and had lunch in St Thomas, it was a great time.
2. The ferry from CA to STJ is hit or miss now since they have started running. If you are in the CA/Courthouse area around that time, it might be worth it to stop by the dock and see if they are running, if not, go to red hook.
3. You could easily get another taxi, but the dock for CA is about 3 blocks away, so it is easily walked. The process in the courthouse as long as there is no line should be no longer than 10-15 mins at the most.

Good luck, just remember, everyone here is on "island time" meaning that things do not happen as quickly as you would want them too, so just relax and go with it. It is a great time.

Hi, If you land at 3:30 and are on time and if you have to wait for luggage you will not have enough time to get to the courthouse by 5. The last ferry from CA is at 4 so you will have to go to Red Hook. Good luck

You didn't ask for advice, but here goes anyway.

You are arriving on a beautiful island to get married. The travel day is stressful enough, why add to it? I personally don't think you can accomplish all you outlined. And you are going to put yourself through the wringer trying.

Get yourself over to STJ and settled. Have a nice dinner and spend the night sitting on your porch looking at the stars, maybe take a dip in your pool or sit in your hot tub.

Get up late on Tuesday morning, have some breakfast and then go back over to STT to do your business, shop a little and have lunch.

In any case, let us know how it goes.

You need to do everything you can to eliminate stress. Trying to do anything fast on the islands creates stress. The sooner you get on island time the better. If you rush you'll be disappointed. If you don't run on a time schedule you'll have the best trip of your life!

Thanks for all the replies. I do plan on taking it easy, it just seems silly to go back to St Thomas the next day if I do not have to. Assuming that I was to land on time and I do not plan to check luggage should i hire a private taxi or just use the regular airport ones to get to the courthouse. Once I finish business at the courthouse I can take my time with everything else.

Thanks again.
