We are getting married in St John end of May. Can anyone give advice as far as getting around. Is it better rent a car, pay the Hotel for the Taxi Package to and from St Thomas or just take taxi as needed?. We will have a group of 8 0r so.
Also, any advice on a steel drummer for ceremony
I'm sorry I can't help you with the drummer but renting a car is worth it! You drive on the other side of the road but the cars are with american wheels so its not too confusing if you're american that is. the roads are steep and very twisted so drive slowly!!
Here is the Pan Dragons web site: [www.pandragons.org].
There is an e-mail, perhaps drop them a note and ask about availability of a local drummer.
Hello Mike,
Its a good idea to rent a car or two cars for your group.
If you are renting the car on St. John you will need to either pay the hotel for their taxi package or get a taxi/ferry on your own to get to St. John from St. Thomas. If you get into St. Thomas during the day then you can rent a car on St. Thomas and take the car barge over to St. John. Some St. Thomas agencies allow their cars to go over to St. John and some don't. If you do a search you will find several discussions comparing renting on St. John vs. renting on St. Thomas and taking the barge.
Congrats on your wedding.

Mike!
You are so in luck!! Stacy was responsible for my wedding ceremony this past January. I had a steel pan drummer at my wedding, you must too, trust! My guy's name was Lem and he was not to be missed.
Stacy's the girl. As my Mattie says, "Stacy's teflon."--Mattie did the video taping of our ceremony, which was cool, since he taped from us arriving at Truck to me hopping on G's back so he could carry me over the villa threshold. Please do the same--I watch our DVD almost everyday and G, Mattie and I sigh all the time how we wish we were back there.
My trip report is somewhere in the messageboard way-back machine. I wish you the best, pally--hope your wedding is all donkeys and rainbows.
