Hi! I'm hoping someone can recommend a resort in a beautiful location on St. John to house my wedding guests (about 15-20 people). Thanks for your help!
Also, my fiance and I are trying to find an interfaith rabbi who performs ceremonies on St. John. We would like to honor our families traditions which include the Jewish, Christian and Buddhist faiths. So far all I've seen are ministers. Thanks again in advance for your help.

You might try the rabbi at the synagogue on St. Thomas.

Don't know that he would travel to St. John but worth asking.

The actual details of the wedding by the rabbi can be found on that site mentioned by Karen, however the link is typed with a " rather then : so it did not work for me.

Try http://new.onepaper.com/synagogue/?v=d&i=&s=St.+Thomas+Synagogue:From+the+Rabbi&p=22631

thats where the info. is youll have to cut and paste the link.

Good Luck.

Thank you Karen and Islander for your help finding a rabbi. I'm going to the site now. Hopefully he/she does interfaith ceremonies.
Any ideas on a place for us and our guests to stay on St. John? We were hoping to have a place where everyone can stay and also have the wedding there. Or maybe St. Thomas is more set up for something like that? Thank you again for your help!

The interfaith should not be a problem. "From the Rabbi" is by the previous rabbi and is very helpful. The former rabbi would suggest that a swim in the sea would be the mikvah. On St. John, there are two resorts, Caneel Bay and the Westin or a choice of many condos and villas there. Some weddings are done at a villa or a boat with a catered reception after On Thomas there are several sites you can contract for the wedding or use one of the hotel, resort or villa sites as well. There are many coordinators who will be happy to help with your plans and most of the hotels do have coordinators to help you with arrangements. The place that you choose for you and your guests would depend on budget and size of the wedding and it would depend on what you want.
BTW, mazel tov!

Ricky-
Congratulations on your future wedding!

I saw your question about having an interfaith ceremony performed by a rabbi in St. John. I am so glad that you asked! My fiance and I want to have a wedding with about 25 guests in either St. Thomas or St. John. I'm Jewish and he's Catholic and I was hoping we could have a ceremony that would respect our roots, but still have a tropical and intimate feel.

Please share what you have found out. We are thinking about May 2003.

Thanks-
Alana
