Okay, I know this has been asked on this forum last year, but like those before me I feel I have to ask: What should I expect weather-wise in St. John for early-mid September? I realize it's the height of the rainy season and hurricane season, but aside from the chance of running into a tropical storm or hurricane, what is the typical rain like? I've read brief showers with sun shining a half hour later, mostly occuring in late afternoon, evening and night. Does this mean it's unlikely I'll see any glorious sunsets? For those who have shelled out the moeny and time to vacation in USVI during Sept-Oct., did the rain hamper enjoying the beach, hiking, etc.?

Sorry to seem so picky for details, it's just the money and time off from work don't come easy. I realiza I can take the less risky route of going someplace list Sanibel Island, but St. John sounds beautiful, though I'd hate to miss out on account of weather and I don't know when my next chance to take such a vacation may come.

Thanks for any feedback,

Craig

Have visited St. John in September twice and willbe there again this September. That should tell you that the weather that we have encountered has been great. Rain has never beena factor for us. We have visited in Late November and had several rainy days then and much cooler temps.

September should be hot and mostly sunny baring a tropical storm.

Enjoy!

We were there in September on one of our visits. We probably had some rain because no matter when we go I think we have had a little. It must have been fine regarding rain otherwise I would remember. I do remember that I don't plan to go again in September due to some of our favorite restaurants closed for a month while we were there. Don't let the weather channel scare you. Often, it showed rain for every day when we have been there, and there was no rain or just a little shower.

Slow news day? Is the board looking for filler? I hope this was helpful to Craig, even if it was eight years late.

Very funny! Whenever I respond to any post on any forum I've learned to first check the date!

I will be double checking the date in the future. I wonder how many other ones I may have done like this.

this was an excellent opportunity to test the validity of the forum information - anybody got records on how the weather was in Sept. '02? 😎
