I just typed in St. John on the aol weather board. What a picture! Rainy every day?!
Mostly in the middle of the night...
We were on STJ first week in Jan - long range forecast said cloudy with showers every day.
So of course it was sunny to partly cloudy the whole time (except one day) and the clouds we had were a welcome relief from the sun; well usually. Showers were more frequent even heavy at night, so it was perfect!
I think they put that report on the Weather sites just to keep visitors away!
I will tell you a little known secret - it seems to rain on both islands almost every day - hence the high % of rain.
Your best bet - check here:

If you want to get really technical, click on the "marine forecast" on the 1st link page....you can get hourly wind/wave prediction as well as precipitation (which here darn well BETTER be RAIN! :)...)
Have fun - that's what I look at before the boat goes out...but nothing beats looking out the window. Just remember, our weather comes from the EAST 😉
Rain is NOT a bad thing in the VI as it replenishes a limited resource - WATER! Which, when the Cisterns run dry, we are all reminded how very much we take it for granted and need it to sustain our lives. Most months the rain is a brief refreshing event (November can be wet). Lots of times the rain comes @ night which makes for wonderful pitter patter sounds while you're laying in bed dreaming of blissful days on the beach or enjoying other Caribbean gifts. Daytime you might get an unexpected but usually brief shower or two. Nothing that spoils your day. Enjoy the rain however brief it may be!
