I'm feeling a bit like Johnny: do we return to wonderful St. John or embark on a new adventure. . .can anyone compare/contrast St. John and the Caymans? I'd really appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!

Yeah, I have been to St. John and lived in Grand Cayman, I now live in St. Thomas and LOVE it. While the Caymans are safe, and clean, they are EXTREMELEY boring, there is no nightlife and the locals (in general) are not excepting of much, they are a conservative society. Come to St. John, explore its natural beauty, and at night if you dont want to eat dinner under the stars, take the ferry to St. Thomas and party

I agree with Yo. You can stroll around on GC and not really see anything. It's an expensive place, but nothing very grand about it.

I have just come back top the states after living in Grand Cayman or two years. I totally agree with the others. Grand Cayman isnt the greatest place . Sure its pretty, but as the others have said. There isnt all that much to do. Nightlife is limited by the Government.. As far as the locals go. I didnt have any problems with them at all. Unless you need something done, which could take a while. In closing St. John and St Thomas are a far better bet.

I have not visited St. John but have visited St. Thomas and Grand Cayman, I do agree with everyone else on the board, the only really good thing about grand cayman is the snorkeling but unless you scube 24/7, the only other thing to do is sit at the beach which actually can get boring after a week, nothing to do at night
