I'll be traveling to St. John this fall for a honeymoon and I'm looking for a villa to rent for the week. I've talked to someone at the Seaview Homes rental company and am wondering if anyone has done business with this company.
Also, is there a Better Business Bureau or similar agency where I could check out the rental company before sending a deposit?
Thanks.
I am departing NJ on Saturday for St John. We are renting from Seaview Homes. So far they have been great to work with. Anything else you'd like to know?
Perhaps Samantha when you get back you could give us and Neal a review of the place and your stay there.
Have a wonderful trip!!! Not sure how long you are going for; however if you have never experienced carnival in the islands and you are there for a week then you can take a ferry over to St. Thomas and enjoy the Carnival events there. Food Fair and the parades would be going on next week and weekend. You can read more about it on this web site if you are interested, under Carnival in the General Guide.

We will be there for 2 weeks and we plan on checking out Carnival for a day!
Samantha,
2 weeks - great :-).
I would suggest:
If you want to try local food/deserts/drinks/listen to some music - then head over the day of the Food and Crafts Fair.
If you want to see the costumes, listen to fairly loud music 🙂 , dancing in the streets, mocko jumbie dancers, watch hours of festive dancing .... then head over either for the Childrens Parade or the Adults Parade.
Have a great time.

Samantha,
Thanks for the input. I really just wanted to make sure they were a legit company before I paid my deposit. I'll probably be renting the Grand View villa. If you've stayed there I'd be happy to read your review.
Anyway, enjoy your trip and let us know about it when you return.
Neal
They are legitamate and belong to the St. John Accommodations Council. You will have to find out who is president of the council if you want to find out more. Or you can contact the Department of Licensing. St. John is too small for anyone to get away with anything!
