I guess im kinda doing this in reverse book the villa 1st then ask questions but my family and I have just booked a week at L'Esprit de la Vie in Cruz Bay and i was wondering if anyone has stayed there? It looks absolutely amazing from the pictures. How is the Cruz Bay area? Is it close to shopping and resturaunts? Thanks a bunch for all your answers.

While I don't know this particular villa, I must say it looks really really nice. This area is close to town, shopping and restaurants. Is this your first trip to STJ? I'm sure you're going to love it.

Welcome NYR1st

You will find STJ and Aruba to be the exact opposite as Caribbean islands go

Both are great but for different reasons.

We have not stayed in your particular villa, but near it. You will have a 10-15 minute drive to town, but unlike Aruba it will be on the other side of the road "KEEP LEFT" and will traverse a few major hills.

The views will be stunning and depending on the orientation the sunrises I am sure will be awesome and maybe the sunsets too!

As the night sets in you will be able to put on Bob Marley and see the floating Cities (Cruise Ships) head to Aruba 🙂 as they pass St Croix twinkling in the distance.

The days will be action packed with the best views snorkeling, and the nights are most enjoyed in the villa with a cocktail and friends or family... maybe just alone 😉

There is plenty of nightlife in Cruz Bay, but as Dorothy says clicking her red flip flops.... There is no place like the villa...

STJ will be a different vacation. Do not ruin it by trying to do too much. Relax let it happpen - You will be back

I just looked up the villa and it looks really amazing. I've seen it from a distance and always wondered about it. Rendezvous Bay is my favorite bay on St. John. It's just amazingly beautiful and quiet. You will be a short distance from "town", no more than 10 minutes to drive. I would recommend renting a vehicle with 4WD. There is one steep turn in the road that is slippery when it's wet and 4WD will give you more confidence when driving it when wet. I think you will love the villa, it looks like a GREAT choice!

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering whether or not the 4wd with be a necessity or not but that just confirmed it for me.
