I've been a lurker on here for about 6 months and really value everyone's opinions and advice. My hubby and I spent 5 days in STT in August and now are planning a trip to STJ for this coming July with my hubby and 2 other couples. We have our villa choices narrowed down to these 3 but would appreciate any comments or advice about them. We are in our mid 30's and enjoy the beaches during the day but wouldn't mind going out at night to a bar at least a couple of times during our week stay.

Sundance villa
Blue Palm villa
Sea Dream villa

Would like comments about the condition of the villa, proximity to restaurants/bars and beaches and grocery stores.
Thanks!

Great advice, Tom. Went down last year with a couple that had never been, only to be told by them shortly before we were to depart for STJ, that 'he' wasn't one for the sun/heat, and'she' wasn't into the beach much. Now, having been there a bunch, I too looked at it as a big adventure. It turned out to be one too aggravating for them (which soon became contagious), until we got to & settled into our villa.-just to be reminded about their discomfort with the sand, sea, and sun. When we did all go out for the day, it was more 'beach-hopping', never really relaxing on one beach for the day. I found it to be a shame that they didn't seem to want to enjoy that serene angle...but the bars were always fun, and they were thrilled by the hills and turns. I just wish we spent more time in the sand then the jeep. My fiancee has been in touch with the other woman, sporadically, but neither he nor I have made an attempt to get in touch. This after knowing oneanother for 5-6 years. Going with a friend of @ 15- 20 years this April ,who I've been there with before, and his wife, so I kind of know what to expect. Another good idea figuring out about who gets the better room- our villa has a 'convertible-king' in one of the bedrooms. Your fun advice will hopefully iron out the only wrinkles in this years' vaca.
Thanks-MJ

We are still great friends and in fact we are getting together tonight.

One of the couples has decided to do their family Christmas back in Solaris this year - it truly is a nice place
Think the only thing holding them back right now is the Airfare is a little scary

We as a group have to start planning the next big adventure as a group, but it is looking like it will be a crewed Cat in late spring early summer 2009. Most want to do the BVI - I want to go back towards Guadeloupe

Of course my sweetie and I will sneak to the blue water before 2009...

One morning she will say , "it sure would be nice to go to the beach" and I will be booking some kind of tickets, bidding on some kind of auction, check the last minute deals - color me blue...

Hey yall..............

Check out VILLA CAROLINA in Coral Bay. This place is the bomb and has an unbelievable view for 30 miles!!!!! It can sleep up to six, all with complete privacy under one roof. Killer pool deck as well. Views over Coral Bay, East End, all the way to Virgin Gorda.

If there's open dates in the slower months, they'll work some deals for you too. The owners are great people.
It's a great location to enjoy both sides of the island. Beaches are 10 minutes and Coral Bay is five minutes down the hill.

St. John is so much more spectacular than St. Thomas. When we go down, we can't get off of STT fast enough. St. John is a whole nother pace of life. Hope this helps.

So sorry for the no response....long story but yes we did decide and booked Calypso Del Sol and also booked 2 vehicles which I think will be a good idea. We are all very excited and can't wait to get down there...3 months and 17 days to go!
