I will be going to St.John at the end of May. We are staying at Gallows Point and plan to eat out and do some cooking. What type of clothes do I need to bring.? It seems like the last time I went on an Island vacation I brought nice clothes and ended up in my swimsuit and jean shorts the whole time. Is St. John casual and should I even bother with dresses or nice clothes? I prefer casual. Also, what are the best restauraunts? Do any of these require you to dress up?

THink casual. Maybe a sundress for dinner at a place like Asolare, Chateau Bordeaux, Chloe and Bernards or just to make you feel good with a little tan. St. John is casual. There are just a few restaurants where you might want to wear a sundress but a casual one. There's a very good restaurant with a great sunset view right at Gallows-Zozo's. In town two of the restaurants that have been getting rave reviews are Tage and Ten Tables. Lunch at the Balcony at Wharfside has also been popular. Think about going to Joe's BBQ and maybe bringing it back to Gallows for a picnic on your own deck.
