We are looking for a relativley short island tour of St John (I wish we had more time). I know that there are several companies that offer such a service as you get off the Ferry in Cruz Bay, but as is true with most things I'm sure some of these tours are better or more reputable than others. Does anyone have a suggestion and do you know how to contact them in advance. I was told that there are some very popular tour guides , but they didn't know their names or how to contact them.
Also, Are there any trails or paths that let you walk from Cinnamon bay to Trunk bay. My wife and I aren't serious about Hiking, but if there is something a mile or so long that is not to rugged we would be very interested.
and lastly, I assume that Taxi's are plentiful in the off season around the main beach areas.
Thanks
Al

I'm not sure about tours because I just like to explore on my own. I did a day trip to STJ last week. I hiked a nature trail from Cruz Bay to Caneel Bay. I had intended to hike to Cinnamon, but the heat of the day kicked my butt. 😉

I forget the resort's name at Caneel, but I walked up to a taxi stand and there were 4 or 5 taxis waiting. The ride from Caneel to Cinnamon seemed like it was 2 or 3 miles up and down steep hills so I'm glad I didn't try to hike it. Cinnamon Bay campgrounds and services were closed last week, but the beach was very beautiful and secluded. When I was ready to leave I saw a taxi drive past, stopped, turned around and asked if I needed a ride. I never had any problem finding a taxi and right now is the dead of the off season from what I saw.
