Bring your food with you. The resturants are no more expensive than the stores. You may as well eat out if you don't bring your food. We pack a cooler full of meat and a cary on with dry food. The food there is very expensive.

Yes, there are food stores but they are expensive. You should probably plan on taking part of your day off and heading back to St. Thomas. There are 'regular" grocery stores there. While the food is still more expensive, it's not as bad as St. John. Oh, and on St. John there are street vendors in kiosks who sell fruits and vegetables.

Have fun.

But, if you are working at Maho, don't they includes meals in their program? They do have a commisary at the campsite also.

Bringing down food is an option but it can be a big pain. The thing that I have found is that you have to go to a few stores to get what you want at a reasonable price. Starfish is more expensive than the other stores on island. Marina Market has excellent prices and Pine Peace is new and improved and also has good prices. Dolphin has better prices than Starfish but practically nothing in the meat line. Starfish is the only one that has a good variety of meats. I've gone over to STT to shop but then you have to consider the cost of the ferries and the taxis. The best way to do it is to take the car barge with a few other people and then really stock up from places like Cost u Less and the other large stores on STT.

You get 40% off meals , not sure about free . and tell me what the commissary has to offer. i will be there for a month so you see that it will get expensive to eat out every day . I was hoping to eat out a few times a week and just wing it fruits etc. Thanks for all the replys. Yolanda

It's Maho named after the beach it sits on. It'sa campsite that very popular and very eco minded.
40% sound pretty good to me Yolanda! Have not been in the commisary in a long time, I am sure you will find the things that could hold you over. There is also Nature's Nook right on the corner in Cruz Bay where you can get fresh veggies and fruits!
