We have travelled to the Caribbean in April for the past few years (good weather, school vacation & cheaper). However, I'm researching St.John for December 2006 (we were there in April 2006). Is the snorkeling OK or will the "swells" make snorkeling difficult? It looks like the temps are in the low 80's and water temps. high 70's - am I right? We visited during Easter 2006 and the island did not seem to be too busy/crowded for us. Does it get much busier over Christmas? Thanks for your input - not sure we can afford this extra trip but I'm looking for deals.
I assume you mean Dec 07, not 06. We were there the week before Xmas 06. Warm days..needed air in room & jeep. Water refreshing, not at all cold, not warm like summer. I brought a float & hung in the water most of the time. Water was calm everyday we were there. No rain except one AM .There are loads of cruise ships in so we never went to Trunk..Cinnamon wasn't very crowded and the other beaches were sparse. STT was very crowded.Cruz Bay at night was busy ( for Cruz Bay ).
Thanks cocosmom. Oops, I meant Dec '07. We were in Tortola and Jost about 1 month ago and could not snorkel because of the swells.
