Is there a website available to view restaurant menu's before arriving on St. John? Thanks in advance
There isn't one site that has them all. You kind of have to poke around on the internet and see what you can see. I know that www.on-stjohn.com has more than a few on their site. Is there something specific you are looking for? Maybe I can point you in the right direction.
Thanks stjohnjulie, I was looking for a restaurant that serves like hamburgers, sandwiches nothing expensive as we will be on a tight budget after buying 7.99 gallon of milk among other things. So this trip will be cheap eats. Thanks
Imcneil1225,
In Cruz Bay you might try some of the road-side food vendors like Sheila's Pot, grab some BBQ at Uncle Joes. Try to catch some Happy Hour specials... ie. Beach Bar.
Its often the drinks that make the bill go wayyy up... of course that depends on how much you drink. LOL. If you are really trying to save - drink (tap) water at restaurants. Ask for a couple pieces of lime or lemon and squeeze it in your water for a little taste. 😉
Hopefully others chime in with restaurant suggestions and tips to help make your food/drink money stretch a little further while visiting St. John.

If I remember right the last time we visited in our villa was a folder with ALL the menu's from the islands restaurants to read though. I wonder if I should call the villa management and see if she will send me a copy of what she has in her villa home's?
A lot of the "cheap eats" places are not online. They can't really afford the website! But, some good places for cheap eats on St. John are The G-Spot (most under $11) , which is located in Larry's Landing across from Wharfside Village. Uncle Joe's BBQ is a great deal, huge portions, great BBQ. The Beach Bar http://www.beachbarstjohn.com/menu.htm , Woody's, Banana Deck http://www.thebananadeck.com/id1.html High Tide http://www.hightidevi.com/menu.html are also moderately priced. There are a few to give you an idea anyhow!
Thank you for the recommendations stjohn julie and Islander. I had to laugh and hopefully wont offend someone on here buy my husband read what stjohnjulie wrote when you listed some cheap eats he said " there's a restaurant called the G-Spot we have to definitely go there" I said honey I'm sure it's not what your thinking. How funny is that? He's a good joke...
Imcneil1125, I think that he will like their motto as well, "The G Spot, A great place to eat...if you can find it" As you can tell, Garbo has a very good sense of humor. The food is very good and the price is right!
Ok stjohnjulie where is the G-Spot located at? Hubby says with a name like that we going even if it sucks or is expensive. Not to sure what he hopes to find there. lol It's on our must see and do list.
If you know where Larry's Landing is, it is located there between the first and second bar areas. It's just a tiny little spot, two wooden doors that swing open with dry erase menu boards on them. If you Don't know where Larry's Landing is, it is across from Wharfside Landing (the shopping complex to the right after you walk off the ferry dock). The orange-ish-yellow building between Slimman's Parking and the Catholic Church. It is a not miss on the cheap eat good food list! If you go one day and the menu doesn't float your boat, try another day, because he changes the menu a lot. The menu on the right door is their regular stuff and the menu on the left is usually all of their specials (sometimes longer then their regular menu). The G-Spot is Cash only.
If you didn't know, Larry's Landing is a pour your own bar. You say rum and coke, they hand you the rum bottle and a can of coke and you pour it the way you like it.
Pour your own drink? Huh, how interesting. I can see how we could get into trouble doing that and trying to find out way back to the villa. lol
I've seen more than a couple people fall prey to the pour your own! 😀
