Hello...my partner and I are looking at St John as a possible vacation spot this april, we have seen pictures and we have been amazed..just a few questions..

1. How tolerant is St John..I am gay and will be traveling with my boyfriend, how open is St John towards Gays?

2. Are there any Gay bars or any paticular bar that many gay people go to and are accepted?

3. What is the nightlife like on St John..we do not need anything too big, but we do like to stay out past midnight(say 2am)..does the whole island shut down at like 12 or do some places stay open to the wee hours?

4. We would like to rent a villa, we have looked at a few but are there any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
Marcus
p.s...this board is great and has lots of info!

I am a St John resident- it is very relaxed atmosphere, however I agree PDA's are not encouraged - one area that is conservative is dress - no bare chests for men or bathing suits in town for ladies, come be yourselves and have fun-

Another inexpensive accommodation choice is www.suitedreamsstjohn.com - contact Vickie or Nelson for quotes or www.starvillas.com are also good prices.
Good luck, Mary
