I posted my pictures from our last trip several months ago, but here's the link for any new folks: www.pbase.com/mreilly01/st_john2

We're actually heading out to St. John on Wed for a week -- unfortunately, it sure doesn't look like picture taking weather!! I know all about the bogus weather forecasts, but this seems like the real deal -- a tropical wave has made its way it, and it looks to be overcast the whole trip!

Can any locals chime in? Any sun peaking through those clouds??

Matt

Not a local, but just returned from 9 days in St. John. We usually make the trip in November, but this one was for our wedding!! I, too, was terrified about the weather. I was hearing horror stories about the all day rains. However, the weather was absolutely gorgeous. It really only rained at night, except for the occational 2 minute shower during the day. It was just beautiful. It is hot though!
My parents are leaving tomorrow and they said it was cloudy this morning, but the sun made its way out!

Have a great time. I am missing it so much.

these are outstanding. i am planning my first trip to st. john, possibly for may of next year. is there any concern about weather at that time of year? or does it just so happen that there's a storm a brewing while you plan to be traveling.

thanks.

May does tend to be a bit rainy... but generally it rains and clears up within 15-30 minutes... we just happen to be unlucky with this tropical wave which moved in. We leave tomorrow, and it looks like tomorrow and Thur are going to be the bad days... hoping to get some sun for the rest of the trip!

Glad the weather held out for your wedding! The weather doesn't look good for us, but I'm sure there will be a few days with some sun... either way, we're off work, in St. John, and have some quiet time together for once... sounds good to me 🙂

We just got back from two weeks in STJ - May 14 - 28. It rained pretty solidly for the first 3 1/2 days and then we got only the occasional morning shower or the 15 minute afternoon shower the rest of the days we were there. We were a little worried after the first two solid days of rain but the trip turned out dry - and just fine - afterward.
