I live on Water Island and would like to visit St. John and stay one night in order to have a place to clean up and go out to dinner after a day on the St. John beaches. I have been to St. John many times, but never overnight, so I am familiar with some places. I am looking for simple accommodations with a queen bed and clean bath room for 2 people. I have checked the eco-studios and they are not available for my date. Can anyone offer any recommendations? Any comments about the Inn at Tamarind Court? Also, anything with a good rate for locals would be appreciated.

We've stayed at the Tamarind on three different trips and its been adequate. It can get a bit noisy in the morning if you are on the side towards the bakery. Some other options are Hillcrest Guesthouse, St. John Inn, Cinnamon Bay Campground cottages and Botanical Villas. The other reasonably priced places that we know of have a minimum stay requirement.

Cheers, RickG
