When is the best time after Carnival - July 4th - to visit St. John in July? Do alot of the restaurants/bars close after then? What should the weather be like? We visited in October and it was beautiful, but need to return sometime in the summer.

We love mid-July! Pretty much everything is open (except Miss Lucy's sometimes). Weather is good (hot!), water is calm and warm, and mosquitos are almost non-existant. We've never had any problem with tropical disturbances, but there is always the possibility - though they are typically weak at that time of year. Off-season prices are a double bonus too!

Thanks to all in advance.

Hey ccasebolt, are you heading back to STJ this July? We will be there July 12-21. We decided to rent a Westin Villa from a Timeshare owner.
