I am going to St John in May for my honeymoon! Just wondering where everyones favorite restaurants and bars are? We are staying in the Cruz bay area. We want to go to a couple nice romantic restaurants and open air places.

Congrats Kim,

You didn't mention your preferences in food & drink 🙂 But here's some of my wife and I's favorites...

Romantic Dinners
- La Tapa (say hello to Alex)
- Jax, upstairs from Zozo's at Gallows Point
- The Balcony bar overlooking Cruz Bay harbor
- Ocean Grill in Mongoose

Drinks
- High Tide bar (excellent Limin Coconut)
- Joes Rum Hut (for to-go drinks 🙂
- Woody's (for more to-go drinks 🙂
- Lizards Landing (for dancing)

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask for details / other suggestions.

My husband and I first went to St. John for our honeymoon...this June will be our 5th annual trip 🙂

Our two favorites are Morgan's Mango and the Lime Inn...we never miss either of those restaurants (and usually go to each twice per trip). Both are open air and have great food.

There are coupons for Morgan's Mango (and other places too) here:

Cafe Roma is good if you want a really filling, HUGE Italian dinner.

My husband had the best tuna he's ever had at Paradiso...that was in 2003. At Paradiso you can either eat inside or out on the balcony.

Morgan's Mango was probably the most romantic laid back place that we had dinner.... there was live music the night we were there and the young man with the mellow voice and his simple guitar added alot to the atmosphere. There was a blackened red snapper with a catchy name that was awesome... as were the 2 or 1 frozen rum drinks we enjoyed. I think there are more expensive places that are probably romantic also but we enjoyed walking from Gallow's Point into town for dinner and not having to drive or take a taxi... the stroll added to the romance because we could stop anywhere along the way that interested us for shopping, etc. You'll have great evenings no matter where you spend them, have fun!

In my opinion, Rhumblines (Cruz Bay) is perfect - romantic ambience, openm air with tiki lanters, swings to sit in at the bar, and excellent food & drinks - try it!

I agree, the atmosphere at Rhumblines is great...definitely one of my favorites for atmosphere.

The only thing I don't like about Rhumblines is that their dinner menu is fairly limited.
