Trying to plan where to eat in St John.
What do you think of these?
I heard these are the must eat at:
Zozo's, Tage, Lime Inn, Morgan's Mango, La Tapa, 10 Tables,
Paradiso, Balcony, Chateau Bordeaux and Chloe & Barnard's

But am curious about the following:
Asolare, Stone Terrace, Panini Beach, cafe Roma, Rumbablya and Shipwreck Landing

Thanks in advance - as I know how often the chefs move and what was good one year, may not be the next.

Lime Inn is definitely our FAVORITE. Asolare has a great view and the service was friendly, but we still can't get over a $200 bill for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 4 glasses of wine. Maybe we wouldn't have been so bummed if the food had been spectacular. Anyway, I believe our opinion of Asolare is in the minority. Island Blues has a great local, breezy feel to it. Stone Terrace was nice. The food was good, service ok. Wouldn't go back as there are other places to try. This may sound crazy but after a day at the beach we LOVE to take some Woody's carry-out back to the villa along with some Lime-n-Coconut frozen drinks. Have fun!

Lime Inn and Asolare are not two of my favorites. I love Cafe Roma for its pizza and its salads and low cost. Love the new restaurant in Meada's Plaza. The atmosphere is great and so is the food. From what I have heard Tage and Ten Tables are the newest and best on the island. Do like to dine out on the veranda at Paradiso for sheer ambiance. On the Coral Bay side Island Blues is very good especially on the weekends when they have some great bands. Definitely a local spot as is Skinny Legs on that side. Skinny's is great for lunch and local flavor. You never know who you will meet there and their burgers and hot dogs are the best. Some people love Shipwreck Landing but I wouldn't drive all the way there from Cruz Bay. The food used to be much better than it is now and the attitude is very laid back. Chris Cody from this board is now the chef at Chole and Bernards at the Westin and the menus he posted here looked rather good. ZoZo's at Gallows is very well known and popular, I have not eaten there but all the reviews are excellent. Morgan's Mango supposedly has seen better days. As far as Chateau Bordeaux is concerned this is by far one of my favorite spots. Elegant dining and excellent food. The views at sunset are magnificent. I can even look out into Coral Bay and see our boat. I like La Tapa and it always seems to be crowded even though some of the tables are right out by the street. Very European looking for the islands. The Balcony has gotten some rave reviews from some of my STJ friends especially for lunch. I liked to watch the fireworks on the 4th from there and hope to do so again now that a much better restaurant is there. Guess I've said enough . Look around Cruz Bay while you are there and you can pretty much judge for yourself. Suggest reservations at some of the more popular spots if you are going in high season.

Sogo's for West Indian fare, not fancy but delicious. I also had Uncle Joe's BBQ
12 times in 5 weeks.

What type of food are you looking for?
The fine dining ones you listed were:
Tage, ZoZos, La Tapa, Ten Tables, Paradiso, Chateau Bordeaux, and Chloe and Bernards.

The casual restaurants are Lime Inn, Balcony, and Morgans Mango.

I would say Rumbalya would be a no.
Panni Beach, I havent been there for over a year.
Roma is best to go to the bar and order a pizza(the only place they let you order pizza).
Asolare and Stona Terrace are also in the fine dining area.

I wont include Chloe and Bernards in my opinion just because I am the chef there and obviously I think the food is pretty good.

I like Tage, Stone Terrace, ZoZos, Ten Tables, and La Tapa.

My company does run Asolare, Paradiso, and Chateaux Bordeaux. I think they all have something to offer. Chateaux is a very nice cozy place with a strong European menu. Asolare is euro-asian with an awesome sunset view. Paradiso is right in mongoose junction and has pretty good food and the chef is good.

Tage does have one of the best chefs on island and I respect him alot. I really think most of the fine dining places on STJ are very similar in price and the casual places arent far behind at all!
Feel free to email if you are asking about a specific place and I'll give you the skinny or if you want to know about my menu.
