Does St. John still offer donkey rides on the east side? If so, do they run? (HOPE NOT)...I will never ride a horse after being thrown off years ago and broke every bone on my ride side of body so I don't want to know about horse back riding. But would possibly be interested in a slow donkey ride as long as they don't trott or run. I now have a real phobia of that..,.Thanks

Come on lmcneil1125 - We all know this is just a ploy so you can tell your husband (without lying) that there are rides in STJ!
Appropriate I may add!

Ok, TomB you caught me. lol Yeah if I tell him there are rides he will ask if there like Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain. And I guess I could say to him if he gets a real out of control horse that runs non stop and up and down the mountain that yeah they do have a ride LIKE Space Mountain by the time your done on the horse ride. lol........But no, in all honestly Iam really looking for a slow donkey if someone at St. John offers them. Good one though so something I would pull with him....

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the donkeys on STJ are wild and would not be suitable for riding, even if you could catch them. If you have a picture in your mind of the little donkeys that people ride into the Grand Canyon, I don't think so.

As a former professional horsewoman in another life I can understand your reluctance to get back on a horse again after such an awful experience. In the years that I taught I helped many such as yourself overcome their fears. That said, I would take a quiet horse any day over a donkey - donkeys have to be one of the most uncomfortable rides imaginable and, frankly, I trust them far less than a well trained horse! I would check with Carolina Corral and see if they can accommodate you with a quiet walking ride on a quiet pony or small horse. Have fun whatever you decide to do! Cheers!

Before I got on that horse I was told that it was one of the most gentle horse there was on this earth and didn't do anything but slowly walk. Well heading up the Arizona mountain it turned around and literally ran as fast as it could jumping over bushes right through people's yards and viered up on his back legs and threw me off onto the cement and kept going. I literally broke all my ribs on my right side and shoulder with tail bone. It's been 7 years and I cant even go to a parade where's there's horses because I shake and cry. I honestly don't think I will ever get over my fear of riding them. So that's why I was looking at a slow dumb donkey ride. That cant be to bad right? I will look at her website to see what she offers. Anything is fine as long as it is not a horse.
