My sister and I are planning to go to St.John this Nov, we have never been there.

We are arriving at STT airport at St.Thomas and we are staying at "Westin Villa, St.John".

Could someone please tell me how do I get to our resort from the airport?
What ferry should we take and how long is the drive from the airport to the ferry?
thank alot
BB

Westin has a private ferry. Just ask the hotel for more information.

You will get off the plane in STT - go to the Westin Room at the airport - Game Done!

Using the Westin ferry is an easy option, but a little expensive. If you don't want to use their service, it is easy to get to the Westin. At the airport, right outside of baggage claim, there are several taxis and a dispatcher. Just tell them you want to go to Red Hook. The ferry from Red Hook leaves every hour on the hour until midnight during high season. Then you will ferry over to Cruz Bay St. John, where there will be more taxis waiting. Just tell them you want to go to the Westin. There is also a Charlotte Amalie ferry (often called the downtown ferry) but the schedule is less than the Red Hook ferry. Many people opt for this ferry if it is in line with their arrival time. It takes about the same amount of time overall. You will have a shorter taxi ride, longer boat ride than the Red Hook option.

The ferry schedule and prices are here (St. Thomas-St. John passenger ferry): https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/interisland_ferry/#St.%20John%20Passenger%20Ferry:%20%20Red%20Hook%20to%20Cruz%20Bay

The taxi rates for St. Thomas are listed here: https://www.vinow.com/stthomas/getting_around_stt/taxi_stt/

Taxi rates for St. John listed here: https://www.vinow.com/stjohn/getting_around_stj/taxi.php

If you are renting a car, which I highly recommend, ask the rental company how they handle arrivals. Many of them are located in Cruz Bay and you can walk to their lots from the ferry dock. Some will pick you up at the ferry, it just depends.

Have a wonderful time!!!

The Westin ferry is $110pp RT (with unlimited trips between STJ-STT from the Westin dock to Crown Bay) - it is expensive but very convienent. Going the public route is about half the cost for a single RT - depending on how you tip...

Be aware - taxis in the USVI are taxi buses that take others as well (including pick-ups and drop-offs). Go the CA ferry if you can - the trip to RH can be a drag (esp w/ traffic and construction).

If you are a WSJ Villa Owner - make sure you check out
http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111510

it is a long thread - but many trip reports (5 by me) are linked that are WSJ-centric (along with photos/videos and other USVI/STJ/WSJ news)
