Hello,
I am very excited to be relocating to the Virgin Islands in the next couple of months. Initially, I was set on St. Croix and have a job opportunity there. Based on research online and talking to different people who have visited the V.I., St. Croix sounded like a mixture of great aspects of all the islands. However, I have recently been offered an excellent job opportunity in St. Thomas. Now I'm torn b/c i really don't know which island would be a better fit for me.
My husband and I are very laid back and don't like the crowded scene. We love outdoor activities (i.e. scuba diving, beach, hiking, etc) and will have a small boat (17-21ft Whaler). Any advice, opinions, and/or or input on pros and cons of each or both islands would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much 🙂
Check out the relocation board here. There is a link at the top of the page, this will provide you with much more information than this board, as this is the visitor board.
No matter what, I HIGHLY suggest that you visit whatever island you choose before you decide to move. Moving the the VI is not like lmoving to a new town or city or state. The relocation board will be a big help.
I could not agree with the comments just given above. Come here to see what it would be like not to be on a vacation. The major differences between St. Croix and St. Thomas are the prices are lower in St. Croix and the crowds are much larger on St. Thomas. It is like living in a small city vs living in the country.
Both have great things to do.
But come and see! Spend a few dollars that may save you many.
